Becker Shoots 54% in 105-70 Victory Over Hancock

The Becker Bulldogs broke the century mark on Saturday, defeating the Hancock Owls by the score of 105-70.  Becker led 56-35 at the half.  The Bulldogs connected on 54% (40-74) of their field goal attempts and hit over 50% (15-29) of their treys.  They also made 10-of-14 free throws in the game.  Hancock finished 27-of-59 (46%) from the field.

 

The Bulldogs were led by Mitchell Soltau with 33 points.  Joshua Groskreutz had 18, Kyan Blomquist 17, Nathan Weiss 12 and Landon Peterson 12.  Blomquist and Soltau each hit 5 3’s.

Hudson Ver Steeg had a big game for Hancock with 35 points, including 6 3’s.  He also had a team high 12 rebounds.  Chase Evink added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.  Rylan Meierding distributed 8 assists to lead the Owls.

Hancock (1-2) has Little Eight Conference home games against Hillcrest on Tuesday and Ashby on Friday.
