Browerville/Eagle Valley paid a visit to Battle Lake on Thursday night for a high school boys’ basketball contest.  The Eagles left town with an 81-37 victory over the Battlers.  Browerville/Eagle Valley made 50% of their field goal attempts, including an impressive 46% (12/26) from behind the arc.  Battle Lake made just 27.5% of their shots from the floor.  The Battlers also turned the ball over 22 times, leading directly to 22 points for the Eagles.

"We are struggling to put the ball in the basket right now,” commented Battle Lake Head Coach Brady Cameron. “Our offense is not flowing like I would like it to and part of that is our youth that is on the floor.  Our defense also needs to be better though, we can't give up 81 points and expect to win.  We need to take pride on that end and get stops.  Browerville is a really good team, they have some really good players that can score all over the court and they are good at taking advantage of mismatches.  I can see them competing for a section title in their section this year."

Leaders for Battle Lake were Braxtyn Cameron (14 points, 8 rebounds), Maddox Mekalson (9 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals), Quinn Condiff (6 points), Aidan Buehler (5 rebounds, 3 assists) and Aidan Heggem (6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 points).

Miguel Maloney led Browerville/Eagle Valley with 28 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals.  Hans Puck added 24 points, 6 boards, 5 assists and 4 steals, and Tavin Benning had 11 points and 3 steals.

Battle Lake (0-3) will play at Rothsay on Tuesday night.
