The Henning boys’ basketball team shot 46% from the field and held a 42-23 advantage on the boards Thursday night against Menahga.  The Hornets held the Braves to 33% shooting and posted a 69-43 victory.  Henning led 31-20 at the half and put 38 second half points on the board while holding the Braves to just 23.

Kale Misegades completed a double-double with 28 points and 10 rebounds.  He also had 5 steals and 3 assists.  Teigan Bjerke and Logan Kostelecky were also in double digits with 15 and 14 points, respectively.  Bjerke also grabbed 9 rebounds and dished out 3 assists, while Kostelecky had 6 boards.  Lane Dilly finished with 4 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals and a pair of assists.

"Menahga made things really difficult for us offensively," commented Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. "They are athletic and physical and didn’t allow us anything easy. We made a nice run to end the first half and then were able to extend the lead throughout the second half. We still have plenty of things to clean up on both ends of the floor, but we’re happy to get our first conference win."

Menahga was led by Bodie Berttunen with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Brayden Aho added 10 points and Knaylor Howard contributed 9 points and 6 rebounds.

Henning (2-0) has a home game with Pillager on Tuesday.

Menahga (2-1) will host Bertha-Hewitt on Tuesday night.
