Alexandria goalie Hunter Sellnow stopped all 16 shots she faced on Thursday night as the lady Cards blanked River Lakes 2-0 at the Paynesville Arena. The Cardinals had 38 shots on goal, including 16 in the third period. After two scoreless periods of play, Alexandria scored a pair of goals in the third to claim the victory.
Cadence Ellingson scored from Tayler Treat and Kylie Lattimer at the four minute mark of the third period and 46 seconds later Lillian Dutton found the back of the net with an assist from Kennedy Ellingson.
Alexandria (6-3) will travel to Willmar for a Central Lakes Conference contest on Tuesday.
