Border West held Ortonville to 27% shooting on the night and shot 42% themselves, scoring 42 points in the paint on the way to a 69-46 win over the Trojans on Tuesday night in Ortonville.  The Buccaneers hit the boards hard, winning the rebounding battle 54-36.  They also had 20 assists on 28 made baskets.

“We played a nice game tonight,” said Border West Head Coach Jordon Roos. “We wanted to control the glass and run the floor for some easy baskets. We did a nice job of both. We also played pretty solid defense for most of the night keeping Ortonville to a low shooting percentage. There were still definitely some points where we can clean up and continue to have less mistakes defensively while trying to move better together offensively.”

Leaders for the Bucs were Holden Rinke (16 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists, 3 steals), Nolan Wilson (14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals) and Kyle Kremer (10 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists).  Tayton Schmidt added 7 points and 7 rebounds.

Border West (1-1) will host Underwood on Thursday night.

No Ortonville stats were reported.
