The Ashby Arrows Boys Basketball Team was defeated by the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars 63-40 on Tuesday night.  BBE doubled up the Arrows at halftime 34-17.  “Quick missed shots taken early in the offensive possession often times resulted in fast break hoops for the Jaguars,” reported Ashby Head Coach John Holsten. “We were not patient enough to find uncontested shots.”

Jake Norby was the Arrows leading scorer with 18 points.  Kellen Dahlen was the only other Arrow to reach double figures, netting eleven points.  Point guard Easton Nelson scored 6 and stuffed the stat sheet with 5 rebounds and 4 assists.  Traeton Nelson made a three-pointer and secured 2 boards.  Richie Johnson had a basket and 3 rebounds.  Fred Schlotfeld led the Arrows in rebounding with 8.

BBE forward Luke Dingmann was the leading scorer in the game making 25 points.  He had 16 by the end of the first half.

The Arrows begin the season with two road losses.  They search for their first win Friday at home against the Rothsay Tigers.
