Pelican Rapids played 36 solid minutes of basketball on Tuesday night, taking a 41-24 halftime lead on Park Rapids Area and going on to record an 80-43 victory over the Panthers. Charlie Larson and Timmy Guler led the attack for the Vikings, scoring 16 points apiece. Brody Syverson was also in double figures with 10.
Jack Welch and Miguel Torres contributed 9 points apiece for Pelican Rapids.
High point man for Park Rapids was Noah Larson with 17.
“It was another really good effort from our guys tonight against a talented Park Rapids team,” stated Pelican Rapids Head Coach John Gullingsrud. “We were pretty successful at attacking their full court pressure and half court zone, and did a nice job of spreading the ball around as we had another balanced scoring night. We continued to show a willingness to defend, which has been a spark for us so far to start the season.”
Pelican Rapids (3-0) will open Heart O’ Lakes Conference play on Friday night at home against the Hawley Nuggets.
