The Rothsay girls’ basketball team traveled to Battle Lake on Tuesday night for a Little Eight Conference contest.  The Tigers took a 43-20 lead at the half and the two teams played even in the second half, resulting in a 69-46 Rothsay victory.

“I thought our girls came out ready to play hard tonight,” said Rothsay Head Coach Anita Heier.  “We jumped out to an early lead, but credit to Battle Lake as they just kept cutting into the lead.  We had several girls contribute offensively again tonight, which was fun to see.”

Savannah Sullivan led the Tigers with 26 points and 6 rebounds.  Bethany Danielson added 15 points and 7 boards.  Four other players contributed 6 points each.

“The Tigers shot the ball really well and never allowed us to get back in the game,” said Battle Lake Head Coach David Marso.

The Battlers were led by Kenady Cameron and Skyler Jacobson who each scored 12 points, and Sophie Akerman who added 10 points.

Rothsay (3-0) is at Ashby on Friday night.

Battle Lake (0-3) will host Parkers Prairie on Friday.
