Otter Girls Control Tempo Throughout 4-1 Win Over East Grand Forks

Fergus Falls put 27 shots on the East Grand Forks net on Saturday afternoon, while the Green Wave had only 15 shots on the Fergus Falls net.  The Otters improved their record to 4-3-1 on the season.  They have recorded three wins in their last four games.

 

Ella Starzl netted her first goal of the year 1:58 into the first period with an assist from Hannah Johnson.

East Grand Forks pulled even with a power play goal from Blake Schultz at 1:32 of the second period.  Maggey Plante assisted on the goal.  An unassisted tally by Averie Tonneson at 3:20 put the Otters back in front at 2-1 and another unassisted goal, this one from Aubree Nelson at 11:11, gave the Otters a 3-1 lead after two periods.

Fergus Falls got a late insurance goal at 15:08 when Rachel Debrito scored from Lydia Johnson.

Ana Jyrkas came up with 14 saves in the contest.

Fergus Falls will travel to Sartell on Thursday for their only game of the week.
