Playing for third place at the Wabasso Tournament, the Hancock Owls defeated Lakeview by the score of 55-32. The Owls held Lakeview to just 6 first half points as they led at the break, 28-6. Hancock had a huge advantage on the boards as they secured 62 rebounds compared to 16 for Lakeview.
Hancock was led by Hudson VerSteeg (20 points, 24 rebounds, 7 assists), Chase Evink (16 points, 13 rebounds), Preston Kisgen (9 rebounds) and Rylan Mierding (9 rebounds). The Owls registered 18 assists on 22 made field goals.
Leaders for Lakeview were Ian Taylor with 9 points, including a trio of 3-point field goals, and Trevor Tusberg with7 points.
Hancock will play at 3:00pm next Saturday at Becker.
