The Pelican Rapids Vikings led 28-12 at halftime in their season opening game on Thursday night and went on to defeat Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal by the score of 60-30.  “This was a nice win to start the season at home tonight,” said Head Coach John Gullingsrud.  “We had a balanced scoring effort and brought good energy for most of the game on the defensive end. There was definitely some sloppy play as is typical this early in the season, but overall it was fun to see how hard our guys were willing to work and battle through the tough stretches tonight.”

Charlie Larson led the Vikings with 13 points.  He was joined in double digits by Miguel Torres and Timmy Guler with 10 points each.  Brody Syverson added 9 points.

Aidan Flaten led the Titans with 8 points.

Pelican Rapids will travel to Crookston on Monday and will host Park Rapids on Tuesday.
