John Holsten is in his sixth year leading the Ashby boys’ basketball team.  The Arrows are looking to improve on an 8-17 campaign last season and need to replace graduated seniors Brodie Ecker, Bradee Christianson and Levi Bogenrief.  “The Arrows are a work in progress,” stated Coach Holsten.  “We really need to have good shot selection and compete at a high level on the glass.”

Returning letter winners include Kellen Dahlen (SR, Forward), Jake Norby (SR, Post), Easton Nelson (JR, Guard), Fred Schlotfeld (SR, Forward) and Richie Johnson (SR, Guard).

Underclassmen in the mix for varsity playing time include sophomores Jacob Sorenson (Post), Bradley Schroeder (Guard) and Reed Jensen (Guard), freshmen Traeton Nelson (Guard), Beckett Johnson (Forward) and Eric Sperr (Forward), and eighth-graders Carver Rylander (Forward), Evan Rossum (Guard), Aiden Jeppesen (Forward) and Jonas Johnson (Forward).

Holsten, who will be assisted by Kip Nelson (JV/Varsity Assistant) and Rick Gramm (Junior High), says “Several teams can win the Little Eight Championship and compete for the Section 6A title this year.”
