The Wheaton/Herman-Norcross girls’ basketball team finished 15-12 a year ago and second year head coach Levi Schultz says the competition will be stiff in the Little Eight Conference and Section 6A during the 2023-2024 season.  “Underwood and Hancock will be tough competition for everyone in both the conference and the section,” said Schultz, who will be assisted by Dan Perry.

The Warriors lost Brylie Schultz, now playing at Northern State, and Megyn Kelly to graduation.  They return starting guards Jordyn Perry (SR) and Julia Schmidt (JR), along with Reagan Spilde (JR) and Sadie Vipond (SR) who have some previous starting experience.  Addison Blume (JR) has also seen varsity minutes off the bench.

Coach Schultz will be looking to freshmen Claire Rinke (Guard) and Kianna Wahl (Post) to see varsity time, along with eighth-grader Carlie Schultz (Post).

“The experience of our guards will be the strength of our team,” noted Coach Schultz.  “Our biggest weakness will be our size as I don’t think we have a girl over 5-9.”

Perry, Vipond and Braylen Schmidt will serve as team captains.
