It was Maroon and Gold all day at Northern Aire Lanes, as the Otter bowlers walked away with the varsity and JV conference tournament championships.

The Otter varsity qualified first in the eight-game qualifying round, and defeated Wadena in the semi-final bracket match.  The Otters would face Bemidji, the team that gave them their only loss this year, in the final match.  Both teams started out tentative, as Bemidji held an 8 pin lead after game one.  The Otters started out game two with four strikes, and never looked back, rolling a 208 game, and taking the title match.  Seniors Nolan Korby (83%) and Kaydence Knutson (75%), along with Kyle Korby (75%) were team-high in the win.

Fergus Falls JV Black was the top seed after the qualifying round, with Fergus Falls JV Maroon at #3, and Fergus Falls JV Gold getting the #4 seed.  FF Black defeated FF Gold to advance to the final against FF Maroon.  FF Maroon had beaten the #2 seed, Bemidji Blue, to earn their shot at the title.  FF JV Maroon saved their best for the end, as they rolled over FF Black for the first-place plaque.  FF Gold had a nice win over Bemdji Blue, taking 3rd place.  Senior Brody Bray had the best day of his career, leading FF Maroon with a 79% fill percentage for the tournament, with KayLea Weisenberger at 63% on the day.  Maddie Price (80%) and Ian Meyer (76%) were team-high for FF Black, as they collected the 2nd place medal, along with their regular season championship plaques.  Brayden Haugen led FF Gold, filling the tournament at 83%.

The varsity squad, and all three Fergus Falls JV teams, will compete at the MHSB State Tournaments held on Saturday, Nov 18, and Sunday, Nov 19.
