Buccaneers Score Late TD to Top Rockets 14-6

Border West scored what proved to be the winning touchdown on a 13 yard pass from Marshall Tolifson to Holden Rinke in the fourth quarter and added the two-point conversion for a 14-6 victory over the Underwood Rockets on Saturday in the Section 4 9-Player semifinals in Wheaton.  Border West (8-2) will now matchup with Ottertail Central on Thursday at 11:30am at the Fargodome to decide the Section championship.

 

Brody Nachbor gave the Buccaneers a 6-0 lead with a 2 yard TD run in the second quarter. 

Underwood tied the game in the fourth quarter when Evan Lundgren connected with Noah Link on an 11-yard touchdown pass.

Rinke's game winning TD catch was followed by a successful two-point conversion run by Nachbor.

Nachbor ran for 105 yards on 20 carries and Border West had 90 rushing yards and 133 passing yards on the day.  Marshall Tolifson completed 11-of-16 passes for 120 yards and the winning TD.  Rinke led the receivers with 4 catches for 38 yards, while leading the defense with 7 solo tackles.

Lundgren was 11-for-23 throwing the football for 97 yards.  He threw one touchdown pass and was intercepted twice.  Link hauled in 5 passes for 70 yards and a score.  Collin Lukken led the rushing attack with 39 yards on 12 attempts.  Lundgren led the defensive effort with 7 solo tackles and Link had 6 solo tackles and 2 assisted tackles.  Link recovered a fumble and Owen Harig had an interception for the Rockets.

Underwood ends the season with a 6-4 record.
