Rebels Run for 499 Yards in 27-7 Victory Over Perham

The Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Rebels compiled 499 yards of total offense with 402 yards coming on the ground as they established a 27-0 lead on the way to a 27-7 victory over the Perham Yellowjackets on Wednesday night.  Two players, Brody Friend (13 carries, 131 yards, 2 TDs) and Casy Macziewski (10 carries, 100 yards, TD) hit the century mark in rushing yardage.  Bodey DeVries added 86 yards on 11 attempts and also scored a TD.

DeVries scored his touchdown at the 5:13 mark of the opening quarter on a 3 yard run, capping a 10 play, 73 yard scoring drive and giving the Rebels a 6-0 lead.

Friend’s 3 yard TD run at 5:43 of the third quarter, followed by a two-point conversion pass from Brody O’Keefe to Caleb Johnson, put DGF ahead 14-0.  They added another third quarter TD on a 70 yard run by Friend with 52 seconds left for a 20-0 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.

Macziewski’s 59 yard run and a Hayden Hauf PAT kick upped the Rebels lead to 27-0 with 10:19 remaining in the contest.  Perham got on the board with 8:21 left when Gage Aanenson hauled in a 13 yard pass from Blaiz SchmidtHudson Hackel tacked on the extra point kick.

Perham had 161 (29 rushing, 132 passing) yards of total offense on the night. Schmidt completed 14-of-26 passes for 132 yards and Aanenson had 9 catches for 89 yards and a score.  Hudson Hackel finished as the top rusher with 6 carries for 19 yards.  Defensively, Carson Byer had 9 solo tackles and 5 assisted tackles to lead the Yellowjackets.  Hudson Hackel (5 solo, 4 assisted tackles) and Trystan Larson (4 solo tackles, 4 assists, 1 forced fumble), Dylan Ralston (fumble recovery) and Schmidt (Interception) were other top contributors on the defensive side of the football.

DGF and Perham are the top two seeds in the Section 8AAA playoffs and will receive first round byes.
