Wellman Leads Otter Girls with 3rd Place Finish at Girls CLC Meet
Alexandria captured the Central Lakes Conference Girls Cross Country championship on Tuesday with 36 points. Willmar was runner-up with 72, followed by Brainerd 88, Rocori 98 and Fergus Falls 117.
"Cassie Wellman ran for a third place overall finish earning All Conference Honors," said Head Coach Niki Welde of the Otters. "I have been so impressed with the way she races. We can look on paper and see where the chips may fall ahead of time, but in the end you have to run how you feel on any given day, and she has been feeling great. She has a bold start to her race."
