Sophomore Estee VerSteeg of the Fergus Falls Girls Swim and Dive Team is the Olson Oil Company Athlete of the Week. VerSteeg capped an outstanding and busy week with 3 first place finishes at the Section True Team Meet in Detroit Lakes on Saturday, leading the Otters to a second place finish.
The week started with a 109-68 win over Perham/New York Mills on Tuesday as VerSteeg won both the 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle races. She was also a member of the winning 200 medley relay team and 200 freestyle relay team.
In the Otters final dual meet of the season, a 116-69 win over Willmar, VerSteeg won both the 200 and 500 freestyle races and again swam on the winning 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay teams.
At the True Team Meet on Saturday, she won the 200 free and 500 free, while participating on the first place 200 freestyle relay team and the second place 200 medley relay team.
