Bolts Run for 447 Yards and 7 Touchdowns in Win Over Ortonville

Ashby-Brandon-Evansville jumped out to a 22-0 lead after one quarter, increased that lead to 44-0 at the half and went on to post a 56-7 victory over Ortonville on Friday night.  The Bolts ran for 447 yards and scored 7 rushing touchdowns on the night.  They also held the Trojans to 102 (57 rushing, 45 passing) total yards of offense.

ABE scored on a one yard TD run by Logan Haburn, a 60 yard run by Micah Fuller and a 71 yard run by Haburn in the first quarter.  They also two-point conversion runs by Fuller and Haburn on the way to their 22-0 lead after one.

Fuller and Haburn scored on one yard runs in the second quarter and Fuller connected with Colton Breitkreutz on a 7 yard scoring toss.  A pair of successful two-point runs by Haburn contributed to the 22 point quarter and the 44-0 halftime advantage.

A 16 yard run by Justin Thoennes in the third quarter pushed the score to 50-0 and a 15 yard run by Royce Aasness in the fourth quarter made it a 56-0 game.

Ortonville’s lone touchdown came on an 18 yard pass from Trent Eastman to Wyatt SherodAbel Alonso Gomez added the PAT kick to put the final score at 56-7.

“It was great that we were able to get all available players involved in our homecoming game,” said Head Coach Dan Johnson of the Bolts. “We have not been able to get our freshmen under the lights this season so it is pretty special that it happened on homecoming. We need to quickly move on as a very good Border West team is coming to our place on Wednesday. They have great overall team speed and are very efficient on offense.”

The Bolts were led by Fuller (11 carries, 211 yards, 2 TDs) and Haburn (13 carries, 143 yards, 3 TDs).  Aasness ran the ball 6 times for 52 yards and Thoennes had 35 yards on 3 carries.  Seth Thoennes caught one pass for 24 yards to lead the receivers as Fuller was 2-for-3 throwing the football.

Defensively, Haburn and Solomon Wales combined for a quarterback sack.  Wales had an interception, Stephen Hamilton forced a fumble and Andrew Scott registered a fumble recovery.  William Englund led the team with 4 tackles.
