Perham Girls Win Home CC Meet, Otters Place 7th
The Fergus Falls girls were seventh out of 17 teams with 206 points on Thursday at the Perham Cross Country Invitational. The host Yellowjackets won the event with 61 points and Brainerd was second, also with 61 points. Perham gained the team victory with a higher placing of their sixth runner. Moorhead came in third with 122, Hawley was fourth with 128 and Little Falls fifth with 177.

“Cassie Wellman had an all-time best time, earning her a place on the medal stand for the Otters,” commented Head Coach Niki Welde of Fergus Falls. “She broke out of the 19 minute mark with an exciting 18:54. She now holds our school 5K record! She has a laser focus on her goals, and she is meeting all of them due to her hard work and determination! Naomi Dummer finished a strong race to an 18 second PR showing her continued strength and Sarah Grotberg is rebounding her season with an excellent season best.”
