The season ended on Thursday night in St. Cloud for the Fergus Falls girls’ soccer team.  The Otters were shutout by St. Cloud Tech, 3-0 in the Section 8AA playoffs.  “After a scoreless first half we were very optimistic,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens.  “We played 40 minutes into the wind and kept them off the scoresheet.”

In the second half the Tigers scored 3 goals in 10 minutes and that was the difference in the game.

“As a coaching staff, we are so lucky to spend the time we do with these great kids,” added Jurgens.  “They are warriors.  They battle through injuries and never complain, they play any position with no questions, they let us coach and they go and play.  Thank you to our wonderful seniors.  You have given so much of yourself to this program. We wish you all the best.”

Other scores in 8AA quarterfinal play saw Alexandria drill St. Cloud Apollo, 13-0, Willmar shutout Detroit Lakes 1-0 in overtime, and Rocori edge Little Falls 2-1 in overtime.
