M State Volleyball Team Gains Split at Home Triangular

The M State volleyball team split a pair of home matches on Wednesday night, posting a 3-1 (14-25, 25-16, 25-20, 34-32) MCAC South Division victory over St. Cloud Technical and Community College, and losing 3-1 (25-23, 25-19, 14-25, 25-11) to NDSCS.  The Spartans are now 11-13 overall and 9-2 in South Division play.

 

Kaleigh Sip led the attack against St. Cloud with 21 kills.  She added 2 solo blocks and 1 block assist.  Faith Marion (12 kills, 10 digs), Kendra Emery (11 kills, 21/24 serving, 17 digs), Ariana Noplos (6 kills), Cassie Dahl (12/13 serving, 5 digs, 44 set assists), Maddie Ballweg (16 digs, 20/22 serving, 4 aces), Madi Foss (13/14 serving, 1 ace, 11 digs) and Kaleigh Peterson (9/9 serving, 1 solo block, 1 block assist) all contributed to the win.

In the loss to NDSCS Sip had 17 kills and Marion had 12.  Emery finished with 8 kills and Noplos and Dahl added 5 kills apiece.  Dahl distributed 36 set assists, Ballweg had a team high 22 digs and Marion had 10 digs.  Serving leaders were Ballweg (25/27, 1 ace), Foss (11/11), Emery (13/14) and Dahl (12/12).
