M State recorded a pair of MCAC Southern Division road wins over the weekend, beating Rochester 3-1 (25-23, 21-25, 25-23, 25-19) on Friday night and then defeating Western Technical College 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-21) on Saturday afternoon. M State improved their MCAC South record to 8-2 with the victories.
In the win over Rochester, Kaleigh Sip (13) and Faith Marion (11) each had double digit kills. Kaleigh Peterson and Kendra Emery added 7 kills apiece. Cassie Dahl had 30 set assists and 4 kills. She also had 9 digs and went 7-for-7 on the serving line. Other statistical leaders were Emery (21/24 serving, 3 aces, 17 digs), Maddie Ballweg (19 digs, 11/11 serving, 2 aces), Madi Foss (8 digs, 11/13 serving), Marion (8 digs, 6/6 serving) and Sip (8 digs).
Against Western Technical College, Faith Marion and Kaleigh Sip led the attack with 9 and 7 kills, respectively. Kaleigh Peterson and Kendra Emery added 6 kills each and Ariana Noplos contributed 5 kills. Cassie Dahl distributed 29 set assists and was a perfect 11-for-11 on the serving line with a pair of aces. Other top servers were Emery (15/15, 2 aces), Peterson (11/11, 2 aces), Marion (16/17, 3 aces), Madi Foss (9/10, 1 ace) and Maddie Ballweg (9/9).
Ballweg had a team high 17 digs.
The lady Spartans will host a triangular on Wednesday with St. Cloud Technical and Community College at 4:00pm and North Dakota State College of Science at 6:00pm.
