Battle Lake hosted Ashby in the Battlers Senior Night volleyball match on Thursday night.  The home team recorded a 3-0 (25-5, 25-9, 25-17) win over the visiting Arrows.  “Tonight we recognized our 4 awesome seniors,” commented Battle Lake Assistant Coach Heather Akerman.  “Kaylee Trosdahl, Madison Cameron, Addison Maethner, and Molly Durbin have been great leaders and role models for our young team, so it was fun to give them recognition tonight.”

Kenady Cameron (8 kills, 3 digs, 9/10 serving, 3 aces), Kinley Bormann (7 kills, 9/9 serving, 2 aces), Sophie Akerman (22 set assists, 17/17 serving, 3 aces, 3 kills, 3 digs), Addi Maethner (4 kills, 16/18 serving, 1 ace), Maddy Cameron (5 digs, 7/7 serving, 1 ace), Belle Boyum (7/7 serving, 1 ace, 2 kills) and Danica Byrne (4 digs) led the way for the Battlers.

“The Battlers came out with confidence and were ready to play,” said Coach Akerman. “I give credit to Ashby for never giving up and coming out with energy in the third set.  Although the Battlers spotted Ashby 7 points in set three, they were able to refocus and finish the match in 3.  To top off the night, Coach Roisum was able to be there to witness an awesome team win!”

Battle Lake (7-13) has road matches at Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on Tuesday and at Hillcrest on Thursday.

Ashby will host Brandon-Evansville on Tuesday and Parkers Prairie on Thursday in a pair of Little Eight Conference matches.
