OTC Wins Sixth Straight Game, Beating Bolts 42-18

Ottertail Central ran their record to 6-0 on the season with a 42-18 victory over Ashby-Brandon-Evansville on the Bulldogs homecoming night in Battle Lake.  OTC ran for 330 yards and accumulated 379 total yards on the night.  Mason Dalluge had a rushing touchdown, a receiving touchdown and a kick-off return for a touchdown to lead the Bulldogs.

 

Dalluge got the scoring started with his 85 yard kick-off return to start the night.  Lane Dilly ran for the two-point conversion giving OTC an 8-0 lead eleven seconds into the game.  Ashby-Brandon-Evansville then executed a 12-play, 88-yard scoring drive, culminating in a 13-yard TD pass from Micah Fuller to Jake Norby, trimming the OTC lead to 8-6 with 3:15 remaining in the first quarter.

Dilly’s 2 yard TD run and 2-point conversion run at 9:27 of the second quarter put the Bulldogs ahead 16-6. The Bolts responded with a long 64 yard touchdown pass from Fuller to Colton Breitkreutz, making it 16-12.  Dalluge’s 8-yard TD reception from Jack Mekalson concluded a 5-play, 62-yard scoring drive and put the halftime score at 22-12.

In the third quarter, OTC scored on a 12-yard run by Mekalson and Ashby-Brandon-Evansville countered with a 21 yard TD pass to Norby from Fuller.  The third quarter ended with a 28-18 OTC lead.

Dalluge found the end zone on a 16 yard run with 8:09 left in the game and Chris Fronning scored on a 4-yard run with 4:17 left for the Bulldogs, putting the final score at 42-18. 

Fronnng had an interception for the game’s only takeaway in the 3rd quarter, setting up OTC’s fourth touchdown.

Dalluge ran for 90 yards on 6 carries and caught 5 passes for 49 yards.  Mekalson was 5-for-8 throwing the ball and had 32 yards rushing on 3 attempts.  Dilly was the leading rusher on the night with 122 yards on 22 carries and Fronning finished with 83 yards on 8 rushes.

Ashby-Brandon-Evansville had 263 total yards (165 passing, 98 rushing).  They were led by Logan Haburn with 59 rushing yards on 19 carries.  Fuller completed 9-of-11 passes for 165 yards and 3 scores.  Leading receivers were Haburn (3 catches, 48 yards), Norby (2 catches, 34 yards, 2 TD’s) and Breitkreutz (1 catch, 64 yards, 1 TD).

Ottertail Central (6-0) will travel to Wheaton on Friday night to face the Border West Buccaneers.

Ashby-Brandon-Evansville (3-3) will host Ortonville.
