The Alexandria Legends came into Fergus Falls having won four of their last five matches and they continued their excellent play with a 3-0 sweep of M State, winning 25-20, 25-22 and 25-17. The Legends scored 16 of the last 22 points to take set one and went on a 5-0 run to gain the advantage in set two when they were trailing 15-14. With set 3 even at 15-15 Alexandria rattled off five straight points and scored 10 of the last 12 points to secure the win.
The Legends attack featured Kendall Buerman (10 kills, 3 blocks, 2 aces), Kendal Kopp (8 kills, 1 ace) and Meaghan Winters (7 kills, 1 block, 2 aces). Ady Tysdal added 3 kills and a pair of aces as they improved their season record to 12-6.
The lady Spartans were led by Kaleigh Sip (8 kills, 2 solo blocks, 2 block assists), Kendra Emery (7 kills, 11/11 serving, 19 digs), Cassie Dahl (6 kills, 9/10 serving, 15 set assists, 14 digs), Faith Marion (5 kills, 7/8 serving, 1 ace, 10 digs, 1 solo block), Kaleigh Peterson (4 kills, 1 solo block, 1 block assist), Madi Foss (12/13 serving, 10 digs, 2 kills) and Maddie Ballweg (26 digs, 11/11 serving). Ariana Noplos contributed 3 kills and 1 block assist.
M State (8-12) will travel to Rochester on Friday night and over to Wisconsin to face Western Technical College on Saturday afternoon.
