Fergus Falls hosted Alexandria in a Central Lakes Conference volleyball match on Tuesday night with the visiting Cardinals recording a 3-0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-10) victory over the Otters.  “It was our annual Dig Pink Night for Cancer Awareness and our gym was filled with Pink,” reported Fergus Falls Head Coach Sabrina Noon.  “Our girls had a tough night on the court.”

The Otters were without top setter Karyssa Eberle due to an ankle injury she suffered against Willmar last week.  “Kendal Hanson got her debut as our starting varsity setter in game one and she did a great job getting the ball to our hitters and had some great digs on the right back side,” noted Coach Noon.  “The Cardinals were a scrappy team and picked up a lot of ball on their side.  We lost our energy and fight in the second and third sets.  Alexandria has some big hitters up at the net that we struggled shutting down.”

Hanson finished with 12 set assists, 4 digs and one ace serve.  Hannah Johnson and Brynn Sternberg led in the digs department with 11 and 9, respectively.  Bella Anderson had a team high 8 kills and Sternberg added 5.  Anderson led with 3 blocks, while Rachel DeBrito and Brook Zierden added two each.

“We have the rest of the week off before our tournament this weekend in Alexandria,” added Noon.  “It will be a good time to reset and focus and come back with some intensity.”

No Alexandria stats were reported.
