"It was a smaller meet and wet, so the course was slow, but the team ran very well," commented Ashby-Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Robert Bosma.  "Their goal was to pace each other and they accomplished it.  Lauren Thoennes has a lot of respect for Julia Schmidt from Border West and has wanted to be able to compete with her all season. They both ran well together and Lauren was very excited that she was able to take her first varsity win."

“It was a great day to honor our Seniors and Parents,” said Border West Head Coach Brittany Erickson.  “Our seniors ran their last home meet and they ran it well.  We had a wonderful turnout for the Young Buc run with 26 elementary kids participating from Border West, ABE, and Alexandria!  They had a blast!  I can't thank the love and support that our seniors--Braylen Schmidt, Mikaelyn Johnson, Wambdiwi Bedonie-- give to make the program what it is--a close-knit family.  They truly make everyone feel a part of the team.  Special thanks to our parents who are phenomenal!  They are extremely supportive of the program and wonderful to work with.  We always have such a great turnout from our parents at meets, especially the away ones.  When you think about it, they are driving longer to see their runner compete than the actual event and after their child runs, most stay to cheer on other Border West runners.”
