The Pillager Huskies competed in the Bertha-Hewitt Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, recording a 2-0 (27-25, 25-15) win over Blake, defeating Upsala 2-0 (25-23, 25-18) and losing to Parkers Prairie 2-0 (25-9, 25-16) in pool play. The Huskies then lost to Murray County Central 2-1 (18-25, 25-22, 16-14) before beating the host Bears 2-0 (25-21, 25-21) in the 3rd place match.
Pillager stats for the tournament included some extremely impressive serving, led by Bridgette Danielson (50/50, 9 aces), Gracie Mudgett (25/26, 2 aces), Makenna Camacho (24/25), Jada Loucks (26/27), Aidyn Schuett (13/13), Alivia Brown (22/24, 3 aces) and Josephine Kimman (25/28, 6 aces). As a team, the Huskies were 186-for-194 (96%).
Danielson distributed 62 set assists on the day and added 6 kills and 5 blocks. Attack leaders were Brown (19 kills, 2 blocks), Kimman (18 kills), Loucks (17 kills, 8 blocks) Kalyn Karppinen (14 kills), and Camacho (11 kills, 5 blocks).
Schuett led the defense with 61 digs. Other leaders in digs were Brown (32), Danielson (28), Mudgett (24) and Kimman (20).
