Following a scoreless first quarter, the Panthers scored a pair of second quarter touchdowns on a 39 yard run and a 67 yard run. The conversion try after the first TD failed, but the conversion attempt after the second TD was successful as the home team took a 14-0 halftime lead.
A 2-yard TD run by Bailey Evans in the 3rd quarter and an Evans PAT kick cut the lead to 14-7. The Panthers responded with a 20 yard touchdown run and successful two-point conversion run for a 22-7 lead after three.
The Cowboys had the only fourth quarter score as Evans ran the ball in from 7 yards out and then carried the ball over the goal line for a successful two-point conversion run.
Evans was the leading rusher for Breckenridge with 70 yards on 14 carries and a pair of TDs. He completed 3-of-8 passes for 13 yards. Dawson Wienbar caught 1 pass for 10 yards. Defensively, Evans recorded a sack and Wienbar had an interception. Tucker Tshakert (5 solo tackles, 3 assisted tackles, 2 tackles for loss) and David Erlandson (3 solo tackles, 6 assisted tackles) were the tackle leaders for the Cowboys.
Breckenridge (1-4) will host New York Mills on Friday, October 6.
