The Alexandria Cardinal Boys Soccer team traveled down I94 this past Saturday for a match up against St Cloud Cathedral. Two competitive teams battled it out for 80 minutes with the Cardinals falling  2-1 to Cathedral.

The Cardinals scored first with their lone goal coming from Otto Anderson who was able to finish a corner kick from Cole Haabala. The Crusaders bounced back and found goals in the 13th and 27th minutes of play. The score at half was 2-1, Crusaders up.

The second half continued to be a great battle as both teams played competitively and each found chances at the goal, but no one was able to find the back to the net. The final whistle blew and both teams were exhausted from a full pressure game.

The Gatorade of the Game went to senior Captain Sam Williams for his tenacious play on the defensive line. Sam was everywhere he needed to be while also being a great role model for positive sportsmanship.

The Cardinal Boys Soccer team is now 6-4-3 on the season and will look to travel to Brainerd on Tuesday evening for a 7pm kick against the Warriors.
