Underwood defeated Battle Lake 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-8) in a Little Eight Conference volleyball match on Tuesday night. “Battle Lake does a nice job at the net and caused our team to have to hit around a big block,” reported Head Coach Breck Grove of the Rockets. “They passed well and found open spots on our court during the first two sets which made for great rallies. Thigs started clicking for us in the 3rd set and as volleyball often goes, momentum took over.”
Stat leaders for the Rockets were Liz Lukken (10 kills, 14/15 serving, 2 aces, 1 block assist, 12 digs), Ezrah Baker (8 kills, 19/21 serving, 3 aces, 8 digs), Kallyn Grove (26 assists, 10 digs, 9 kills, 13/13 serving, 2 aces), Brooklyn Christianson (6 kills, 1 block assist, 9 digs), Mily Albjerg (4 kills, 7/7 serving, 2 aces, 1 solo block, 1 block assist) and Katie Hess (9/10 serving, 8 digs). Emma Dirkman recorded 2 block assists.
Underwood travels to Evansville on Thursday for a conference matchup against the Brandon-Evansville Chargers.
