Chargers Win Two Matches at Home Triangular

On Saturday, September 23, the Brandon Evansville Chargers Volleyball team hosted the Vikings from Pelican Rapids and the Benson Braves at the 2nd Annual Triangular. B-E defeated Benson 3-1 (25-10, 25-20, 21-25, 25-14) and beat Pelican Rapids 3-1 (25-16, 25-13, 20-25, 25-18). 

In their first match against Benson the Chargers came out with determination, winning sets one and two 25-10 and 25-20. Little errors all added up to a defeat in set three 21-25 but the Chargers came on strong in game four beating the Braves 25-14. Leading the charge was Kylee Dingwall with 6 Ace serves, 17 digs, and 25 kills. Taylor Suchy added 23 digs while Courtney Brethorst put up 31 assists. Claire Boesl added 5 kills and Skylar Bitzan added 4 kills. 

Game two was Pelican Rapids versus Benson in a closely matched hard fought battle. Pelican Rapids ultimately came out on top winning 3-1. 

Game three brought Brandon-Evansville up against the Pelican Rapids Vikings. The Chargers once again came on strong in the first two sets with wins 25-16 and 25-13. The Vikings were not giving up, however, and took the third set 20-25. The Chargers came back in with tenacity winning set number four 25-18. Once again, Kylee Dingwall took the lead putting down 25 kills. Courtney Brethorst added 31 set assists. Claire Boesl added 5 kills, Skylar Bitzan brought 4 kills and 2 ace serves, Haddy Baune added 3 kills and 5 blocks. Hallie Richter added 2 kills. 

Our next game is on the road at Rothsay on Tuesday, September 26. The Chargers take on Underwood at home Thursday, September 28.
