Ashby-Brandon-Evansville shutout Hancock 6-0 Friday night as both teams saw their season records move to 2-2.  The only scoring came in the third quarter on a 15 yard run by quarterback Micah Fuller.  The two point conversion try failed.

The Bolts had 168 yards of total offense with 100 rushing yards and 68 passing yards.  Logan Haburn (15 carries, 50 yards), Fuller (20 carries, 40 yards, TD) and Carter White (3 catches, 63 yards) were the offensive leaders for the Bolts.  Fuller completed just 4 of 18 passes for 68 yards.

Defensively, ABE registered 7 sacks with Stephen Hamilton credited with 2.5 of them.  He was also in on 13 tackles (1 solo, 12 unassisted).  Haburn registered 9 assisted tackles and 4 solo tackles, along with a quarterback sack and a fumble recovery.  Solomon Wales, Jake Norby, William Englund all had one sack.

“We came into this game with the intent to play faster and with more urgency in order to neutralize Hancock’s size advantage,” stated ABE Head Coach Dan Johnson.  “Thankfully, the boys accepted the challenge and brought great energy into this game.  This was especially important when we opened the third quarter on offense and got a 55-yard reception from Carter White.  We then finished the drive with a great combination of runs from Micah Fuller and Logan Haburn.  Those first five minutes of the third quarter were incredibly important for us to re-establish our energy out of the halftime break.  It carried us throughout the remainder of the game.”

Hancock wound up with 120 total yards, 44 rushing yards and 76 passing yards.  The Owls were unsuccessful on all 9 of their third down opportunities and went 0-for-4 on fourth down.  Chase Evink ran for 54 yards on 16 carries.  Titus Bjerketvedt caught one pass for 54 yards and Jordan Chunn completed 3-of-12 passes for 76 yards.  Bjerketvedt (5 solo tackles, 1 assisted tackle) and Evink (4 solo tackles, 11 assisted tackles) led the defensive effort for the Owls.

Each team had two turnovers and three penalties.
