“The Otter boys took advantage of the opportunity to get out and race today,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Derek Meyer.  “Time was not our strongest showing, but our racing and grit placed our team 3rd, behind Stillwater and Wayzata.  Conditions were not prime for personal bests for most of our guys, but they came out with great focus and good mental attitude.”

Henry Greenagel took the top honors for the Otters, placing 7th overall.  Jaden Miller came in 9th, running 2nd for the Otters, Matthew Tuel was 14th overall, Michael Schmidt was 26th and Logan Bredenberg rounded out the scoring in 28th place.

“Henry is making great strides this season and gaining his fitness each and every week,” stated Coach Meyer.  “Jaden had an impressive race not being 100% and showing up for his teammates.  Matthew paced a nice race.  He wasn’t in the best position through the first mile, but stuck with it and made a good push after the second mile, finishing strong.  Michael pushed past runners the whole race and it was great to have him back.  Logan made a move early and he stuck with his race and didn’t give up.  I applaud him for his grit and determination to finish with all he had.  Micah Mouser and Landon Votava rounded out our top seven, pushing our team past our section competition.  Landon also made his varsity debut.  It was an honor he earned and he was excited for the opportunity.”

The Otters will host the John Hermes Invite on Thursday, September 28 at the Pebble Lake Golf Course.
