Fergus Falls fell to Sartell 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-12) in a Central Lakes Conference volleyball match on Tuesday night.  “The Sartell Sabres are a very strong defensive/offensive driven team,” said Head Coach Sabrina Noon of the Otters.  “Our goal this match was to get touches off the blocks and make them swing around us.  Our girls did just that so our defense was able to set up and get some nice digs off their hard hits.”

The Otters were led by Karyssa Eberle (13 set assists, 6 digs, 2 assisted blocks), Grey Korinek (5 kills, 2 assisted blocks), Brynn Sternberg (5 kills, 5 digs, 1 ace), Bella Anderson (2 kills, 3 assisted blocks, 1 solo block), Hannah Johnson (9 digs), Macee Butler (5 digs, 1 ace) and Brook Zierden (5 digs).  Rachel Debrito contributed 2 assisted blocks.

“Sartell had some big blockers on their side of the net that forced us to control our hits more,” said Coach Noon.  “We struggled at times and are still working on putting the ball away when the opportunity is there.  Our best set was game two.  We were able to keep the ball alive and created chaos on their side.  We did have an injury during this set with our libero Macee Butler going down.  Our girls dug deep that game and ended strong, but in the third, we seemed to have lost the gas from game two and our grit wasn’t there anymore.”

Fergus Falls will host Sauk Rapids-Rice in another Central Lakes Conference match on Thursday night.
