The West Central Area lady Knights hosted Montevideo on Tuesday night and posted a 3-1 (25-6, 25-18, 19-25, 25-11) volleyball victory in Barrett.  The Knights controlled the pace of the night starting off with a comfortable lead in set one. Monte crept closer in set two, and by set three they were playing as if they had nothing to lose.  “Our team forgot that they needed to finish plays, they had us scrambling and back on our heels for a bit in set four,” reported Head Coach Missy Foslien of WCA. “The Knights got back into their groove in set four though and cruised to a 25-11 win.”

Mya Foslien led the attack at the net with16 kills and 3 blocks.  Whitney Westrom added 8 kills and 3 blocks.  Macy Grosz distributed 26 set assists and added a pair of blocks.  Defensively, Foslien (16), Whitney Westrom (12), Grosz (11) and Madelyn Westrom (11) all recorded double digit digs.

Serving leaders were Grosz (19/19, 1 ace), Foslien (13/13), Madelyn Westrom (17/18), Whitney Westrom (12/13, 1 ace), Alaina Sykora (11/13, 1 ace) and Izzy Puchalski (15/25).

“Tonight Sophie Sanstead made her way back on the floor after having shoulder surgery back in May,” noted Coach Foslien.  “It was good to see her back, in a game situation, just to get a taste of playing again.  The last two years, Sophie has been key to our defense, playing libero and as a DS.  We have to clean up our serve receive and our hitting errors.  We are looking forward to hosting Sauk Centre on Thursday.”
