The Alexandria Cardinal Boys Soccer team hosted the St Cloud Tech Tigers Tuesday evening for a 2 point Central Lakes Conference matchup. After a competitive 80 minutes of play, the Cardinals were able to secure the victory with a 3-2 win.

The Tigers were able to find the first goal in the 27th minute of play. Otto Anderson was able to answer back in the 36th minute of play with the assist coming from Francisco Rodriguez. This ended the first half at a 1-1 draw.

The second half continued to be a great match as the physical tone stepped up. The Tigers took the lead right at the start of the second half in the 41st minute. Cardinal Rylan Hovde was then able to send a long, lofted ball catching the Tiger's keeper out of position in the 49th minute turning the score to a draw again at 2-2. As play continued to be tough, the Cardinals dug deep to keep our style of play a focus. Their focus paid off while in the 71st minute of play, one of the most beautiful goals was scored by Jestin Masteller who perfectly placed the ball on the ground across the goal. This was after Otto Anderson flicked the ball backwards putting the Tiger defense on the run. This goal was a thing of beauty. The end of  the match came and the Cardinals took the victory.

The Gatorade of the Game went to Dawson Roderick who played a strong game on the defensive line and kept pace with a high demanding team pushing him up and down the field all night long.

The Cardinal Boys Soccer team is currently 5-1-3 on the season and will look to travel down I94 on Thursday for a 5pm matchup against an unbeaten Sartell Sabres.
