The Fergus Falls 3rd doubles team of Dillyn Lill and Carsyn Lill traveled back to Rocori to complete their match that began last Thursday and was called due to rain.  This match was particularly important to complete as Rocori is in the Central Lakes Conference and section 8AA along with the Otters.  The team score was tied up at 3-3 when the rain came and suspended our 3rd doubles match.  The Otter wins against Rocori came from Ruby Ellison and Ali Bredenberg on the singles side and the 1st doubles duo of Hattie Fullhart and Ashtyn Lill.  With the team match tied at 3 a piece, we knew Carsyn and Dillyn would have to play a full third set to determine a winner for the match, even though sprinkles were starting.  The girls earned the first two games before play was suspended.

Today was an interesting day for the completion of their match.  It's a very different feel to start a match that is already in the third set.  There is no time for a slow start.  We felt the girls were well warmed-up and we even played a few practice games with them as a different way to prep for this match and hopefully have them feeling more into the match than if they were starting from scratch.  The girls took the court on Rocori's serve and broke serve to go up 3-0.  Then the twins had a bit of a slide and dropped some games with unforced errors to blame.  In the end, they cleaned up their game, played offensively, and held off the Spartans to earn the final set 6-4.  This set earned them a victory and our team the 4-3 victory as well.  6-1, 5-7, 6-4.  This team win over Rocori is a pretty big win for our girls and they should all be proud of our efforts to come out on top.

Now the Otters play at 4:30 Tuesday in Sartell.  This is another big CLC and section 8AA match-up for the Otters.
