Bjorn Anderson of Perham won the boys’ varsity race, breaking Joe Klecker’s course record in the process.  The Perham JV boys also won the team title led by JV Champion Brodey Evenson (17:59).  “Bjorn continued his undefeated season, returning 15 seconds in the last mile to win over Eli Hall and leading the boys’ to a team title against some of the top ranked teams in the state,” commented Perham Head Coach Jeff Morris.

“The meet started with many time changes to the schedule to accommodate upcoming weather events,” stated Fergus Falls Head Coach Derek Meyer. “In the end it worked out well, we missed the rain and got all the races in. As a coach I was confident going into the meet that our kids were going to have a great day. My feeling came to truth, we had so many personal bests, season best that most everyone ended feeling good about what they accomplished. I also feel like we are in a good position as a varsity team headed into the championship season. We still have a lot of work to do but will do everything we need to do to prepare for that time.

Jaden Miller had the Otters top time of 16:24.0 and found the podium placing 6th overall. Henry Greenagel placed 25th with a personal best time of 17:04. Next in for the Otters placing 36th was Matthew Tuel, running a season best time of 17:23.5. Logan Bredenberg placed 48th overall with a season best 17:43.7 and Tommy Erickson placed 83rd overall scoring 5th for the team and dropping a huge time of 1:21 for a season best 18:25.5

“Our JV boys rocked the day as well placing 4th as a team and having an overall time spread of 30 seconds,” added Coach Meyer. “They ran well and as a team pack.”

We will compete next Thursday September 21st in Cold Spring, hosted by Rocori High School.
