West Central Area swept past Benson in West Central Conference volleyball action on Tuesday night, winning 25-18, 25-16, 25-11.   “It took a while for the Knights to find some rhythm, and there were times where we let the Braves sneak back close, but as we gained some confidence on the court we didn’t really look back,” stated Head Coach Missy Foslien.

Madi Fagre (4 kills, 3 digs) had some great swings in set one, and Jaclynn Nelson (9 kills, 3 digs, 1 block) played very well in the middle and proved that even though she’s a freshman, she has some serious game.  She took advantage of the single block up the middle and really stood out on the court.  Mya Foslien (14 kills, 17 digs, 19/20 serving, 2 aces, 1 block) led us in kills, and Madelyn Westrom (7/7 serving, 17 digs) played some scrappy defense that kept the Braves out of gaining any kind of momentum.  We had some long serving runs by several players and it was just a nice conference win.”

Other stat leaders were Macy Grosz (14/14 serving, 2 aces, 36 set assists, 2 kills, 8 digs), Izzy Puchalski (9/11 serving, 2 aces, 4 kills, 9 digs, 2 blocks), Alaina Sykora (5/6 serving, 7 digs), Whitney Westrom (8/10 serving, 6 kills, 8 digs) and Wylie McNally (5 digs, 2/2 serving).

The lady Knights will face state ranked BOLD on Thursday night.
