Alexandria Boys Top East Grand Forks 8-0 on Youth Soccer Night

The Alexandria Cardinals boys’ soccer team kicked off the 3rd Annual Youth Soccer Night at Viking Bank Field with a defining victory over the Green Wave from East Grand Forks, 8-0.  The Cardinals came out very strong when the whistle blew, controlling the ball and playing decisively for the first 20 minutes, however, after finding the first three goals, the pace seemed to slow down as the Cards closed out the first half with a 3-0 lead.  After some discussion at the half, the Cardinals came out committed to playing their game and it showed as the team found another 5 goals, ending with an 8-0 victory.

Goals for the Cardinals came as follows:

  • Patrick Klecker assisted by Cole Haabala in the 3rd minute of play
  • Otto Anderson assisted by Graham Odland in the 16th minute of play
  • Rylan Hovde assisted by Otto Anderson in the 17th minute of play
  • Jestin Masteller assisted by Cole Haabala in the 43rd minute of play
  • Otto Anderson assisted by Patrick Klecker in the 46th minute of play
  • Otto Anderson assisted by Cole Haabala in the 51st minute of play
  • Franscisco Rodriguez assisted by Cole Haabala in the 69th minute of play
  • Graham Odland in the 75th minute as a result of a penalty kick

The Gatorade of the Game went to Graham Odland who found his first Varsity goal and assist of his high school career during the match.

The Cardinal Boys Soccer team is now 3-1-2 on the season and will look to travel down I94 for a contest with the Rocori Spartans on Tuesday evening.
