Dingmann Tosses 6 TD Passes to Lead BBE Past WCA

Knights in Barrett and improving their season record to 2-0.  Josh Walstrom was on the receiving end of 3 of the TD passes and 3 of the scores came in the first quarter as BBE built a 24-0 lead.

Dingmann connected with Ryan Jensen on a 24 yard TD pass with 8:27 left in the first quarter and Owen Paulson bulled his way into the end zone for the two-point conversion to give the visitors an 8-0 lead.  On their next possession, the Jaguars scored on a 62-yard catch-and-run from Dingmann to Brett DeRoo.  DeRoo caught a split end screen near the left sideline, deked a defender and raced to the end zone.  Once again Paulson scored the 2-point conversion for a 16-0 lead.  Walstrom hauled in his first touchdown of the night at 3:49 of the first quarter when Dingmann hit him with a strike from 15 yards out.  The 2-point play was again successful as Dingman hooked up with Luke Illies to put the score at 24-0.

West Central Area went on a fifteen play drive that began at their own 39 yard line but stalled out at the BBE 4.  WCA senior Brady Lindquist scored the first home touchdown of the game when he deflected and controlled an interception that turned into a pick-6, cutting the Jaguars lead to 24-6 with 6:13 remaining in the half.  BBE responded with a 5-play drive that was capped by a Dingmann to Illies 35 yard scoring toss for a 30-6 lead.  The Jaguars took a 36-6 advantage into halftime when Walstrom caught a 24 yard pass in the end zone with just 29 seconds on the clock.

A Jack Lundberg interception in the third quarter led to a 31 yard TD pass from Dingmann to Walstrom and after a two-point conversion run by Braeden Michels the BBE lead grew to 44-6 with 1:17 remaining in the quarter.

The fourth quarter started in running time and West Central Area capped the scoring with an 18 yard touchdown pass from backup quarterback Marshall Dewey to senior Lorenzo SomersetSamuel Olson was on the receiving end of a two-point pass from Dewey, making the final score 44-14.

Hunter Gruchow carried the ball 13 times for 59 yards to lead the Knights rushing attack.  Lindquist threw for 83 yards, completing 6-of-15 passes and Sam Hanson caught two passes for 40 yards.

WCA (1-1) hits the road to face Long Prairie-Grey Eagle next Friday night.
