Thursday night the Alexandria Boys Soccer team hosted the Brainerd Warriors for a great Central Lakes Conference match! While the Cardinals are balancing several injuries on the roster, the team stepped up and played strong against an always tough Brainerd team. While the 2-1 score was not in favor of the Cardinals, the match was still a great test of the team's depth as we enter the heart of the season. The Cardinals lone goal came unassisted by Otto Anderson in the 31st minute of play. The Warriors countered with their two goals in the 52nd and 66th minutes of play.
The Gatorade of the Game went to Beau Jones for his continued passion and commitment as a key defensive player during the entire 80 minutes of match play.
The Cardinal Boys Soccer Team is 2-1-2 on the season and will look forward to hosting East Grand Forks on Monday night for Youth Night. Kick off is at 5pm for the boys team and all student athletes wearing their soccer jersey will get free admission to the game! Be sure to stick around for the girls game at 7pm and a fireworks show following the end of that match.
