Alexandria’s Citori Halbe won the individual title with a time of 20:00.5 and Cassie Wellman of the Otters was runner-up with a time of 20:24.1.  The lady Cards had the next three finishers with Jaelyn Miller (21:08.0) third, Quinn Hills (21:13.0) fourth and Bobbi Nichols (21:35.1) fifth.  Naomi Dummer (21:37.2) and Sarah Grotberg (21:49.3) of the Otters ended up sixth and eighth, respectively.

“Cassie Wellman led the Otters with a time improvement from our last meet,” noted Coach Welde.  “Doing this on such a challenging course is exciting.  All of our girls ran with large improvements to their time from the previous season.  Seniors Naomi Dummer and Sarah Grotberg came in next with strong top 10 finishes. Savannah Lee ran well in her season starting race.  Her finish made a big difference to the team total tonight. Julia Anderson ran a strong race with a huge course improvement to round our top 5 scoring athletes.  Violet McConn and Alana Higbee ran in our 6th and 7th varsity spots.  Violet has made a spot for herself on this varsity team.  Alana ran a breakout race earning her varsity spot.”  

The Fergus Falls junior high girls finished 4th with great time drops from last year.  “It is exciting to see these young athletes taking on the same improvements that our upperclassmen are showing,” added Coach Welde.
