M State Rallies from 2-1 Deficit to Claim Hard Fought 3-2 Victory in St. Cloud

The M State volleyball team overcame a 2-1 deficit, winning the final two sets in St. Cloud to defeat the Cylcones 25-21, 22-25, 16-25, 28-26, 15-6 on Wednesday night.  With the win M State improves to 2-6 on the season.

The lady Spartans were led at the net by Kaleigh Sip with 15 kills and 3 solo blocks.  Faith Marion added 10 kills and one solo block.  Kendra Emery and Ariana Noplos added 8 and 7 kills, respectively, while Kaleigh Peterson contributed 6 kills and a pair of solo blocks.  Emery also had 2 solo blocks and Noplos chipped in with one.  Cassie Dahl distributed 39 set assists in the match.

Defensive leaders were Maddie Ballweg (20 digs), Marion (18 digs), Madi Foss (12 digs), Emery (12 digs) and Dahl (10 digs).

Top servers were Dahl (16/17), Foss (20/23, 2 aces), Peterson (11/12, 2 aces), Marion (13/17, 1 ace), Ballweg (16/19, 1 ace), Emery (7/7) and Avery Knutson (6/8).

M State continues their road play with a match at Anoka-Ramsey Community College in Coon Rapids on Friday and a noon contest at Century College on Saturday.
