Ben Jurgens is in his ninth year as Head Coach of the Fergus Falls girls’ soccer team. Jurgens will be assisted by Paul Hicks, Luke Johnston and Amber Hovland. The Otters return captains Rylynn Krein, Vanessa Vaughn, Madi Budke and Ella Starzl to lead the team in 2023.
Other returning letter winners with extensive varsity experience are Olivia Jurgens, Shay Katzenmeyer, Julia Aguilar, Ava Eklund, Cierra Ochoa, and Jayda Emerson Dewey.
“Our goal is to provide the best experience possible for our girls on and off the pitch,” stated Coach Jurgens. “We are often the underdog in the conference and Section 8AA, but we embrace that role and hope to play spoiler in October when it counts most.”
Jurgens points to Willmar, Alexandria and St. Cloud Tech as the top teams in Section 8AA, with Brainerd and Sartell joining those teams as top teams in the Central Lakes Conference.
