Underwood defeated Battle Lake in a Little Eight Conference volleyball match on Tuesday night winning in 3 sets, 25-15, 25-20, 25-12. “Emotions were really high in the gym tonight, but the level of play was impressive,” said Underwood Head Coach Breck Grove. “Battle Lake plays really big at the net which forced us to have to adjust. Our team responded well to the adjustments and played steady, composed volleyball tonight.”
The Rockets were led by Sia Olson (12 digs), Liz Lukken (10 digs, 16 kills, 3 blocks, 9/9 serving), Mily Albjerg (9 kills, 2 blocks), Kallyn Grove (31 set assists, 17/19 serving, 1 ace) and Ezrah Baker (6 kills, 14/14 serving, 2 aces, 3 blocks). Katie Hess was a perfect 8-for-8 on the serving line.
Underwood (2-0) has a Little Eight Conference road game at Ashby on Thursday.
Battle Lake (1-2) will host Rothsay in a LEC contest on Thursday before playing in the Pelican Rapids Tournament on Saturday.
