The Cardinal Boys Soccer team hosted the Monticello Magic this past Monday evening. This is the first time the Cardinals have met the Magic team in program history and if you were lucky enough to be there, you saw an incredible game of soccer. The entire match was balanced with tough, physical play and great possession by both teams. The first half ended at 0-0 and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
The Magic were able to score first in the 42nd minute from a corner kick. The Cardinals lone goal came in the second half when Otto Anderson was able to finish a cross from Cole Haabala in the 75th minute of play.
The Gatorade of the Game went to Julian Ramos for stepping into our defensive line and playing a crucial role in supporting the team and controlling a strong opponent for the entire match.
The Cardinal Boys Soccer Team is now 1-0-1 on the season and will look to host the Willmar Cardinals on Tuesday with a 7pm kick off.
