As Carson Yaggie begins his first year as Head Coach of the Breckenridge football team, he will need to find players to step up and replace graduated seniors Gavin Pederson, Landon Blaufuss, Dallen Ernst, Cam Nieto, Alex Tschackert and Alex Sanchez.  All were key contributors to the Cowboys 8-4 season a year ago, which saw them claim the Section 6A championship.

“We have lots of guys who have played in high level football games returning in the backfield and out wide,” said Yaggie.  “Replacing a senior heavy O-line from last year will be difficult, but we have a good group ready to step up led by Eli Butts, who will be a 3-year starter for us up front.  We have a great group of seniors who have put in the time throughout the off season.”

Returning Letter Winners include seniors Bailey Evans (QB/S), Alan Martinez (OL/DL), Brian Martinez (OL/DL), Jacob Kunkel (WR/LB) and Dawson Wienbar (WR/CB), juniors Paul Armitage (RB/LB) and Butts (OL/DL), and sophomore Jaxson Riggs (WR/S).

Varsity newcomers are seniors Jax Bolte (OL/DL) and Carter Benson (OL/DL), and sophomores David Erlandson (FB/LB) and Cooper Roberts (TE/LB).

Yaggie is assisted by Jordan Christensen, Josh Nordick, Michael McCall, Noah Brenden and Joel Herder.
